Western breach route is one of the most scenic route on the mountain, our trek begins in the rainforest winding through the giant
heather zone into the moorland, and finally into the highland
desert. Each night we will overnight in mountain dome tents
enjoying the meals prepared by our mountain camp chefs. Your
guide will be the local Tanzanian guides the expertise and best
knowledge of the mountain, explain fascinating details about the
route, Flora and Fauna, and attend to the endless details that
make a climb successful and look out for your safety. The treks
are generally approximately no longer than eight days in total,
and so you can combine trekking holiday with and safari holiday
or Zanzibar beach holiday. There is no special equipment or
expertise needed to ascend Mount Kilimanjaro - the basic thing
is having a slow pace. The routes have been chosen to allow a
slow gradual hike. Any physically fit person is able to trek
Mount Kilimanjaro. However, please note the following - you are
not permitted to trek the mountain if you have any respiratory
problems, cold, high / Low Blood pressure, diabetics or any
cardiac problem. Mount Kilimanjaro is a big mountain and should
not be under estimated.
Day 01: TRANSFER TO TOWN OF ARUSHA.
Pick up from your Hotel Nairobi or from Jomo
Kenyatta Int Airport (NBO) and transfer by shuttle bus to Arusha
or Pick up from Kilimanjaro Int Airport (JRO) to Arusha and drop
of at your Hotel, at City of Arusha, Overnight stay at 3 Star
Hotel. Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast.
Day
02: MACHAME GATE
At 08:00am After breakfast, meet with your guide for briefing
about your trek and there after drive to Machame Gate 1828m the
start of your mountain climb. Begin trekking through the rain
forests on a winding trail, to the Machame hut
3000m.
Overnight camping at Machame hut. (Approximant estimated 5 -7
hours walking).
Day
03: SHIRA HUT.
Early today leave the glades of the rain forest and continue on
an ascending path, crossing a little valley and walking along a
steep rocky ridge covered with heather. The route then turns
west onto a river gorge at 3658m, Overnight camping in mountain
tents at Shira Hut campsite 3840m. (Approximant estimated 5 -7
hours walking).

04: TO LAVA TOWER HUT.
Our walk today takes about 5-6 hours. We will leave the moorland
behind and continue up a rocky path through typical Kilimanjaro
mountain vegetation of Senecios, Lobelia and Helichrysum. From
Lava
Tower the views up towards Kibo, of the Western Breach, are
fantastic. Camping in mountain tents at Lava Tower Hut at 4600m.(
Approximant estimated 5 - 6 hours walking).

05: BARRANCO WALL.
From the Shira
Plateau, After spending the night at near zero degrees celsius
continue trekking toward east, we will ascent to Lava tower
4570m called "The shark's tooth". Shortly after the tower you
come to a junction leading to the arrow glacier. continue
descent slowly to Barranco campsite 3950m, for overnight
camping. (Approximant estimated 5 - 7 hours walking) Meal plan:
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day
06: BARAFUU HUT.
After spending a
night at the Great Barranco wall we will leave early morning and
continue walking on a steep ridge passing the Barranco wall,
through the *Karanga Valley and the junction which is connected
to the Mweka trail. Continue trekking to Barafuu campsite
(4600m) for overnight camping. The two peaks, Mawenzi and Kibo
can be seen from this point. (Approximant estimated 8 - 9 hours
walking) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day
07: UHURU PEAK THE SUMMIT 5895m - MWEKA HUT.
Just after midnight trek to Stella point (5745m) on the way to
the Summit, the Uhuru Peak. This part of the climb takes about 7
hours. You have now reached the highest point in Africa 5896m !!
From the summit descend to Mweka hut campsite 3100m for
overnight camping ( Approximant estimated 6 - 7 hours walking).

08: MWEKA HUT TO ARUSHA.
The day is spent descending to the Mweka park gates, From Mount
Kilimanjaro transfer to Arusha
